Federation, first courts and early growth

The Iran Tennis Federation (IRITF) affiliated with the FIP for padel in 2019, the same year the first padel court appeared in the country. That court was reported in January 2019, located in western Tehran, with no club name given at the time. President Davood Azizi leads the federation. By 2026, the sport had grown to approximately 30 courts across 10 facilities, the great majority in Tehran and its wider metropolitan area including the satellite city of Karaj and Kordan in Alborz Province.

Courts and clubs in Tehran and Isfahan

Tehran's largest padel club is Arena Padel Club near the Azadi Stadium with 8 courts, followed by Padelzone Kordan in Alborz Province with 6 courts, and Tehran Padel Park and FGB Padel Club each with 4 courts. NextLevel Padel Club at the Iran-Mall complex on Hemmat Highway hosted Iran's first FIP-sanctioned tournament in 2026. Padelpoint in Isfahan with 3 courts is the only documented dedicated padel facility outside the Tehran metropolitan area, reflecting the capital's dominance in a sport still in its early growth phase.

FIP events and 2026 Asian Games breakthrough

Iran hosted its first FIP-sanctioned events in April and May 2026: FIP Bronze Iran I at NextLevel Padel Club with a 32-player main draw and 64-player qualification, and FIP Bronze Iran II at FGB Padel Club. Iran competed in the inaugural padel competition at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, where both men's pairs entered by Iran reached the semi-finals. Amir Mohamad Jamshidi and Farsad Shahi, seeded 2nd, defeated Japan 6 to 1 and 7 to 6 in the quarter-final, and both pairs' results guaranteed Iran at least 1 men's bronze medal.
